Data Services Project Manager
Role Overview:
Yellow Dog Software, the leader in inventory management software solutions, is seeking a highly organized and process oriented professional to lead a new team overseeing the analysis and maintenance of our clients’ data and invoicing records. Reporting to our Chief Customer Officer and working in our HQ office in Norfolk, VA, this person will manage projects and a team of data and client success specialists, coordinate and prioritize project tasks, manage timelines and client expectations, and communicate clear and timely status updates to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide clear and concise communication to, and establish relationships with, clients though a data audit & review process to establish expectations and alignment on project scope and responsibilities.
Assign internal and external projects tasks and verify the timely and accurate completion of those tasks, providing support, coaching, and general mentorship as needed.
Build successful project plans into RocketLane project management system.
Set project timelines, team deliverables, and provide clients with visibility to scheduling and training using approved internal systems.
Resolve conflict related to the deliverables or schedule.
Prepare and track all formal correspondences to and from the customer and distribute relevant information to stakeholders appropriately.
Serve as an escalation point for clients and review and follow up on any client issues.
Facilitate project meetings, including meetings with internal team members and client representatives.
Serve as internal representative for Data Services team and be responsible for communicating team progress, needs, and department statuses to internal stakeholders on a timely and transparent basis.
Participate in creating and updating documentation related to project management processes for the Data Services Team.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially conveying complex information in concise terms, tailored for various audiences.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and track multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and establish streamlined and efficient protocols.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Outstanding time management skills with a proven ability to meet and communicate deadlines.
Ability to anticipate and solve issues before they occur or become critical.
Previous mentorship or management experience.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them to the appropriate parties.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Experience with Project Management platforms and philosophies and some database management experience a plus.
